Groovy and the Google App Engine

If you've been looking for an excuse to play around with the Google App Engine, this tutorial by Guillaume Laforge should provide some pretty compelling motivation. In addition to an example of a Groovified Servlet (is that even a word?), he touches on AntBuilder and Groovlets. Fun stuff!

easyb Wins Jolt Award

Andy Glover's Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) library easyb won the prestigious Jolt award for Testing Tools.

Congratulations to Andy and the rest of the easyb development team for a job well done!

ThirstyHead has been on the road

Apologies for how quiet it's been around here recently. Andy Glover was busy collecting Jolt awards and talking about easyb at SD West. Scott was teaching Advanced Grails in Denver and talking about DSLs in Groovy in London at QCon.

Scott is currently in Las Vegas at TSSJS prattling on (and on... and on...) about Groovy and Grails.

And of course, you can catch both Andy and Scott on the No Fluff, Just Stuff tour when it comes to a city near you.

Next week -- Advanced Grails

The Mastering Grails 1.1 (Advanced) class happens next week, M-W, March 2-4. There's still plenty of time to sign up! If you are looking to take your Grails skills to the next level, this is your chance.

See Scott at NFJS Milwaukee

The No Fluff, Just Stuff symposium tour kicks off this weekend in Milwaukee. Scott will be there talking about Groovy XML Ninja Skills, The Amazing Groovy Weight-loss Plan, DSLs in Groovy, Dim Sum Grails, Lizard Brain Web Design, and Deconstructing Web 2.0.

See you there!

Social mashups with Groovy

Andy writes about creating social mashups with Groovy over at IBM developerWorks. Twitter? Google Maps? Groovlets? Ajax? Check, check, check, and check.

RESTful Grails services in 3 steps

Andy writes about RESTful Grails services in 3 steps over at The Disco Blog. Can you dig it?
